Shooting at Michigan Synagogue: One Fatality

It was FBI Director Kash Patel who announced that police were at the scene to respond to a vehicle ramming at a synagogue and a subsequent shooting. “I hope everyone is safe,” declared Michigan's Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer upon learning of the incident. An armed man died this Thursday during a shootout with police that broke out after he crashed a vehicle into a synagogue in West Bloomfield, near Detroit (Michigan, United States), in an incident that did not result in any other fatalities. Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, of Palestinian origin, stated what happened at the synagogue is “horrifying”: “No one should suffer violence anywhere, especially in a place of worship,” she added. The man was shot dead inside the vehicle, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. The Jewish community in Michigan should be able to live and practice their faith in peace. The only person injured in the attack was a security guard who was run over by the vehicle, and according to the sheriff, it is expected that he will recover satisfactorily.
